Is it better after delivery to use pads or thos adult diapers to control bleeding?

I am now 20 weeks pregnant and concerned about delivering and what I should do to control the bleeding and what I should wear in the hospital room to ease discomfort would absorbent underwear work better or the absorbent pads and what type of garments would work best post-delivery gowns or pjs not sur what to take this is my first baby any adivce would be greatly appericated thanks
