Is it just me or do people talk to their kids about too young?

You are the exception to the rule. Kids need to be educated for their own safety. They need to know about and how to protect themselves. WE do not tell them to go and have but they still need to be educated about it. Usually you have these talks when things happen to other people, when they hear things in school and ask questions about it, when one of their friends are molested, there are various reasons that is discussed. It does also tend to come up when they have questions about their bodies. 10 might seem young to you and you might have gotten some rude answers because you think it is wrong because you don't agree. You are little more than a child and have not raised any children yet. As a parent you do what you feel is right for your child.
