Help with transportation question please, easy ten pointss!!!?

Ok, so begining next week I will be attending Syracuse University, my friends and family all live around the poconos, and although I have no intention of becomeing a "suitcase student" it would be nice to visit home every few weekends, I wont be bringing my car to school, as it's an unreliable piece of crap that barely starts, and the only thing I could count on it for is dissappointment. Anyway, as a carless student I understand my transportation options are limited, I checked out greyhound busses and I see that it's about $75 for a round trip. That's not too bad but I was wondering if there were any more cost effective bussing options that somebody could inform me of. Any help would be enourmously appreciated, Thanks!!!
